problem with bush

Hi could someone please tell what this is on a couple of bushes in my garden.

Called lichen. A combo of fungus and algae living together in harmony. Indicates the air in that region is good.

Lichens pose no threat at all to the bushes and trees they grow on. It feeds deer and rabbits in the winter time.
