Looks to me like winter damage that is appearing late. As long as there is no spear pull and the situation doesnt worsen, it should be fine with the exception of the new leaf looking bad.

If it has already grown since winter and this damage is suddenly appearing now then it could be bugs (maybe even underground) or possibly over watering (but its probably not though unless its constantly in standing water and it doesnt look like it is).

To me it looks like cold damage, but I hope that it makes it for you because it looks like a beautiful plant!

Good luck!

THis butia looks good. Its just old winter damage coming up which is a warning to you that she needs better protection from the cold (and possibly ice) in her center crown. Was she covered?

This butia looks like is was well protected and it may have been cold. If so, some Christmas lights around the crown on cold nites below 25 would prevent this.
