I noticed these on all 5 of my plants that a grew from seeds. Any ideas??
Here is another picture
Flea beetle damage?
Random distribution suggests mechanical damage.
What is mechanical damage?
jean, please do tell?
In case she doesn't come back, I believe she means something like wind, hail, humans, sand, etc. Something that isn't biological like pests or chemical like herbicide.
She's a smart bird though. She knows her stuff.
Ok, thanks for the clarification, Kevin... We haven't had any wind or hail here, I'm in Central Florida. I grew these plants from seeds, I have two more still in pots inside my screen room that are twice the size and perfect shape.
Another bit of info, a these these are on every leaf of all 6 plants except my 1 year old jalapeños.
Hmm... paint maybe? Can you scratch or wipe them off or are they actual blemishes. Bird poop splatter?
The fact that you have perfect plants indoors of the same seed stock leads me to believe it may be physical/mechanical also.
Is it on any of the new growth?
Those white spots are dead, it's not anything that can be wiped off... Idk, hopefully they survive.
Those spots look like some kind of chemical burns.
Have you spayed them with something other than plain water ?
They may have gotten over spray from fruit citrus fertilizer, the kind you apply to foliage of tree, I don't use anything else.. Unless.... my lawn company did a weed spray and got them with a mist?
Happens all the time.
I would go with the weed killer theory. I don't think it will affect them too much though. I think they will be fine.
This is what happened to my plants when they got a taste of 2,4-d which is in roundup vegetation killer. Looks to me as if the plants above caught a mist of something.
