Help identify 3 different plant pests/diseases

emmettdigger(8)June 9, 2011

I have 3 plants that are being pestered (pun intended) by either a disease or bug of some sort: a jasmine, a rhododendron, and a viburnum davidii. I've tried to do research online to find the pests but no luck.

I did notice a small clustery of whiteish maybe bug like material on the back of the rhodi and a few very small mite-like bugs on the back of the viburnum. You can sort of see the mites in the picture of the backside of the viburnum leaf.

I can't ever get my images small enough to post so here's the photobucket links. Thanks!

Here are links to the images (you can flip through them, too once you click the first link):

I see environmental stress on the rhodie, maybe salts in the soil. The jasmine might have something fungal on it, can't say if it is a secondary infection from pic. Other two, Photobucket annoying this morning and only scrolled through, but I see environmental stress on viburnums too. You'll want to think about if you are overfertilizing, not enough/too much water, sudden weather changes, poorly drained soil, etc. That's what I got out of a quick look between too many Photobucket FUBARs and I closed window.

Rhodie - class drought-stress;l ran short of water last year
Jasmine and Viburnum -- more abiotic damage from last year.

I'm uncertain what you're referring to on the reverse of the viburnum. If the stuff along the vein, especially toward the leaf stem, leaf hairs. If not, don't know because I can't see detail.
