Little round balls in my soil

colincraigieJune 9, 2007

I was digging up some Bluebells and I found a whole lot of little round balls in the soil. They are a sort of fawn/buff colour. Does anyone know what they are please? They are not balls of fertiliser because I have not put any there

If brittle when you squish them, probably remnants of a slow-release fertilizer.

If they're somewhat rubbery when you squish them, perhaps either slug or snail eggs.
