what is RKN.. is is a pest.. since you are in the pest forum???

Don't think so.

questions for you:
1. what plant is it?
2. where do you live

1. Fig Tree acquired from another persons garden
2. Charlotte NC
3. Just want to be careful before planting potential problems in my garden. I see the knots on the roots and didn't know of any alternative possibilities.

Took another look. Yes, I think so.

Could you ask for a cutting instead? Figs are easy to root.

I got a 4ft section of tree. I'm going to pot some of it and start an air layer. Sent some cutting off to others so hopefully they can root them. Was hoping to avoid that step and put it strait into the ground. Thanks for the advice.
