what is this

cghpndJune 17, 2013

Found it on the swamp milkweed which have cosmos and zinnias next to it. The zinnia leaves are like skeletons btw. What are these and what kind of damage they do. Thanks in advance. I tried to get it out but it didn't make it far.

You'll need to add a much more close-up picture to convince me that your beetle isn't just one of the species of ladybugs. :-)

Sorry it went away.. 1st time I seen it. It didn't look like an ordinary lady bug. I have those in the house. Unwanted ofcourse.

I'd say you ID'd it yourself. Search on Swamp Milkweed Leaf Beetle (Labidomera clivicollis).

Well I found 2 possible bugs that have done the damage. Slugs and earwigs! All I need now is what to use to kill them.
