That's some "hard core" stuff right there.

You southerners really got it nice. Ripe peppers in April.

Yeah, always jealous of the southerners.... I've got a few lemon drops set (from overwintered plants), but, not ripe yet. Looking good, Jamie!!

That was going to be my first question. Are these over wintered plants, or did you grow these this year? I'm a newbie, so I was a little naive. I thought planting in March was a good start. I now know that these super hots need a LONG season. If you planted this year, when did you start? I'm very envious! Those are some beautiful pods!

Thank you everone for the kind words. I am very luck to live in central Florida ( Daytona Beach area).

Peppernovice. Most of the plants that are producing the fat pods where started between June and September last year. Some are a couple years old . This was mildest winter I can remember. It only dropped below freezing once. When and if it does I can easily protect them for the short time needed.

I hope so too Tim. I am glad you started more than one . That will increase your odds. I only have two. Both plants have different shape pods and some pods are more wrinkled than others.

Seriously impressive pics, I look forward to seeing more soon.

Just had my first harvest for the year.

Well, if you can call one pepper a harvest. My first Pinot Noir.

Its not technically fully ripe yet, they turn red when they're totally ripe (like practically every other pepper out there). But, I'm hoping they're good eating while still green (or in this case purple) like a bell is. Either way, the rest of them on there can ripen to red, but I wanna eat something out of my garden already!

Blasted corn will be another month or two (but it does have ears on it)...

on all my plants.

Yep, those pods were very nice looking. I liked the Cardi Scorp. It actually looks like that little tail would be dangerous.

This is my second full year on Garden Web and I don't remember the zone 9-10 people being so obnoxious last year. This year is seems they are taunting us northerners without mercy.

Those Cardi Scorpion pods are decidedly different than the plants that I grew last year,
so I must relabel my seeds.

Well, janmac, i have the same problem..zone 4b. Anyway, I snipped buds a week or so ago and many of my plants are putting out more buds now. I have decided I would let them go at this point. So, when I get something to post, I will. Of course you realize they will be "underage" little peppers.

Rustacator, those don't look like true Bhuts, I'm sorry to say. They have more of a Naga shape,
although the skin is more blistered than the two Naga varieties that I've grown. A hybrid perhaps.

Jaime, another fantastic harvest!
