Weird worm/grub parasite on plant

ellie621June 21, 2012

Today we found this weird parasite type growth on a stem of guava plant. We have know idea what it is and have never seen anything like before! If the wind blew or you blew on it they would move and twitch. What is it??

It looks like it could be some type larvae perhaps? But they all seem to be attached around the branch.
