What kind of fungus is this?

CDG425July 26, 2014

This odd looking fungus is growing in one of my planters. It is powdery when water or wind hits it. Does anyone know what it is? How do I get rid of it?

Appears to be a slime mold in the Stemonitis group. Slime molds aren't fungi (or molds), by the way. No need to get rid of it as it's not harmful.
