I was at a local supermarket yesterday and as I was in the checkout line, I noticed this guy sitting off to the side as if put there last minute when someone had second thoughts.
Well, I took him home for $1.99 :-)

I'm leaning towards a Jalapeno.

I'll go as far as saying it's a Capsicum Annuum. That's my guess. :P

It could be one of many annuums.
My Shishitos grow just like that (making "Y" branching). But I doubt a supermarket to sell shishito plant.

My guess is a Jalapeno. Just a guess though. Nice of you to rescue the orphaned Pepper. I hope he provides some nice surprises for you this summer.
