honeysuckle help, please... happens every year

scully931(6)July 23, 2010

This is the third year for my honeysuckle. (Second full growing season) It was fairly large when I bought it. I only had one--very brief--flowering period. Both last year and this year the leaves seem to go bad.

With the heat this year I've been watering it about once a week. It has been fertilized (with MG) about three times since May. It is growing very tall, as it should. I also hit it with some Daconil while I was doing my tomatoes nearby.

The only thing out of the ordinary is that the air conditioning unit is nearby. The air doesn't really hit it, though.

I was SO excited to get a honeysuckle. I would really love to get some blooms and help this plant get better.

Any suggestions as to what I can do here? Thank you so much for any advice.

Might be a leaf fungus....but it looks alot like spidermite damage...
Flip over the leaf and take a look...you will need a magnifying lens (they are very tiny)

If the Daconil did nothing to control that then it probably is not a fungus. Have you asked the people at your state universities Cooperative Extension Service about this?
