Can you ID this insect for me?

terryj09(6)July 5, 2011

I found this guy under a rose leaf early this morning. He wasn't eating anything, but then most of the insects look innocent at 7 a.m.--just chilling in the shade. I've looked through several websites and all of my bug books, and I can't figure out what he is. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Here is a link that might be useful: Mystery bug

I wonder if it's in the family of assassin bugs?
