I have no idea what this thing is. I've seen 4 in the past week. I tried to get the best pictures I could. is it a friend or foe? any help would be appreciated.
With a proboscis like that, we know that it's a predatory stink bug, but I can't find an exact match for the genus and species. When I first saw it, I thought for sure that it was a Florida predatory stink bug nymph (convenient that you're from Florida),, but the coloring isn't right.
But, it is a predatory insect, it is a stinkbug, and it is a nymph. It's a good guy! You might want to Google the Florida pred. st. bug adult and nymphs and maybe you'll come up with an instar that's mostly red.
