something is eating holes in my cantaloupe

melvee(7)August 30, 2011

i have had a longer cantaloupe season than i expected. they did great earlier and had no pests or problems. i still have about 10 on the vine right now but in the last few weeks i have noticed that every single fruit has been damaged by something. they have several small holes, maybe 0.5 cm each, and near each one is a little pile of what looks like orange regurgitated rind/fruit. i don't see any bugs or beetles anywhere. anyone know what this is???
