What is the best spray to use on these things? what are they??? mites???
Sprayed WHAT? Water? Gasoline? Round-Up?
Those look like aphids and aphid mummies (which are aphids that have been parasitized by wasps--a good thing!).
If the plant isn't too big you can knock most of them off with a strong water stream. Done repeatedly it can keep the invasion at a tolerable level.
Those are living aphids, parasitized aphids (called mummies), and white cast off exoskeletons. LOTS of them.
You need to get after them with strong sprays of water, squishing helps, too. You'll need to spray three times a week to get them under control. Yikes!
unless i am stroking out.. that is a rose ...
there are 3 rose forums... and i bet you can get a whole lesson on rose care.. in one of them ...
As your University of Illinois extension says a sharp spray of water is what is needed to knock those wee buggers off the plants. I've used a 1 quart spray bottle when necessary, but seldom 3 times a week.
