'Peach' peppers on eBay...

musaboru(Inland Calif.)May 29, 2012

There is a pepper variety from a Chinese seed company (but sold by various vendors there) which has a very peculiar, but attractive appearance; The peppers look like mini peaches. I was wondering has anyone grown this variety before and do they really look like that in real life?

I'm not familiar with a "peach" pepper but you may want to check out the link below.

Here is a link that might be useful: eBay

Thanks for the caveat Ottawapepper. I've been burned on ebay many times. So that thread gave me a chuckle lol. But the 'peach' pepper seeds are really cheap and that wouldn't be much of a loss. I was just hoping to see if someone had grown this variety or even has a picture. Or if anyone knows a very similar-looking variety I can get from a more repubtable place.
Thanks

It's probably a "peach" habanero...or a Fatalii pepper mislabeled as a peach hab (seen it).

Who knows when you're buying some home gardener or seed re-seller's stock. I've had enough issues with seed trades online getting mystery and mixed genetic outcomes.

That is most definitely not a peach hab or a fatalii...but it is pretty.

I've never seen that ornamental, myself.

Last year I grew a Pimenta de Bico that looks somewhat similar to the pods in your picture. If you're interested, send me an email via my profile, i can send you some "eBay free" seed... and the stamp will be on me ;-))

Well, here's the results guys. I have had trouble growing tomatoes and peppers this year so it's not much, but I did get something that looks remotely like a peach. It has more width when viewed from a side angle (this shows the narrow angle). The color isn't as pretty as the seed packet, but I can't wait to taste this.
Ottawapepper, thanks for your kind offer, I totally missed it. :(

Sorry to hear your season wasn't as fruitful as you expected.

My offer is still open if you want to try growing from some non-isolated Pimenta de Bico seeds.
