Loudoun County Public Hardy Palm Tree Planting

the_virginian(Zone 7 NoVA)October 8, 2013

We helped get these hardy palm trees planted at the Loudoun County Cascades Library in Sterling, Virignia not far from the much vaunted Sterling Trachycarpus. We hope to get some schools and firehouses planted with some hardy palms next year.

At the very least, 3 of the best choices for the area in question. Thanks for sharing!

Kinzyjr: Thanks for the kudos and we are working hard to try to get more public plantings in our area. One day we may look a little like northern Florida with sizable palm trees.

I sure hope so. I used to hate crossing into VA from NC on my way to PA because I knew I was out of range to see palm trees. Hopefully, with your society's work, that will no longer be an issue.
