Unusual Sago Palm

lzrddr(91360)October 8, 2010

This Cycas revoluta has unusually split leaflets, making it look plumose. Unfortunately it also had a bad case of Asian Scale recently, so it looks spotted, too, but I hope as the new leaves grow out, that will correct itself.

Looks like it's trying to turn into a pine tree!

I like that look.I have noticed some of my Cycas revolutas fronds do the same thing.I thought it might be from the fertilizer I give them, maybe it's a mutation.Who knows?

No. Showas are just more densely leaved... this one actually has divided leaflets making it look plumose, instead of the usual 'flat' look of the leaves.
