What's Killing My Butterfly Weed

nuckphoto(6)September 19, 2011

I have no idea what's killing my butterfly weed. The leaves and flowers are turning greyish and on the bottom of the leaves is some brown stuff that smears when you rub it. See pix.

If anyone one knows what this is and how to get rid of it, I'd appreciate hearing from you.

Thank you.

Rust disease is fairly common in some butterfly weed species. That's the problem with your Asclepias. Google and read several of the many fact sheets about rust on this plant and how to control it.
