Cheap MH/HPS Lighting...

amandcrJune 9, 2010

I just bought some 400w MH warehouse lights for $25 off of Craigslist to turn into grow lights using the method in the linked video. Has anyone tried this before? I'll let you know how it works out when I try using them over winter. (I know that's a long time away)

Also if anyone needs information on grow lights, I found this video very helpful. (I don't know how accurate it is about 24hr lighting)

hello electric bill! I used to have MH lighting over my reef aquarium...pricey. I haven't used them for plants...perhaps others will chime in.

You should be able to get your plumeria to bloom in the winter under that. Spider mites will be an issue though, unless you keep the room real cool. Ideal would be between 50 and 60 degrees.
