Greetings from Puna, Hawaii

Hi Everyone,
I told you Okiedawn that I would check in with our gardening experiences while here (perhaps just for the winter) so here are some pics of our backyard. The challenge here is to keep the jungle chopped back as all the rain puts it in super drive. The hibiscus bushes were 30' tall in 4 years. The palms and norfolk pines, now 20-30' I started from 2-3" starts 4 years ago. The avocados were from seed I sprouted then set out, again 4 years ago.

Hi Momfryhover,

Thanks for posting! I love your beautiful yard. Everything looks so green and lush, and that's a sight for sore eyes now since everything here is dormant and brown. It is just amazing how quickly everything grows there.

I hope you have a wonderful winter in Hawaii.
