Identify plant and what may be wrong with it

nrodNovember 12, 2013

I just recently started at a company as a receptionist. One of my duties is taking care of the plants. There is one that I have no idea what is wrong with it or what kind of plant it is! Possibly powdery mildew. I should add that it is an indoor plant that sits next to a window and gets plenty of light. Hopefully someone can help! Thanks!

Also, I have NO IDEA what kind of plant this is, so if you could identify it that would be great!

when no one is looking.. go buy another .. substitute it.. and throw this one away ...

EVERYTHING is wrong with it ....

see above about it being cheaper to buy a new one.. rather than what it will take to rescue this one.. like a bigger pot.. new media.. and bug juice ...

I agree....that plant is a disaster. I would suggest that you tell your boss that they need to get OUT of the indoor plant biz for good. Any individual wanting to have plants should take care of them on their own.

You CANNOT be held responsible for a plant in this condition....period.

Wow, I'm usually the one cheering on sad plants, but yikes, that's really bad-off. Nobody could 'take care of' that plant in an office setting aside from binning it.

If those blinds are always closed, that's not plenty of light. You may have closed them to take the pic. The drain saucer looks like it's been full of water time and time again and again. That will kill plants. This particular plant was a Dracena fragrans, corn plant, and sensitive to tap water chemicals.

What other plants are lurking around the office?
