Hibiscus from cuttings

marricgardensJanuary 31, 2013

I would like to get some tropical hibiscus. I had a salmon colored one that I tried to root cuttings from but they didn't take. Now I would like to trade for some nice cuttings. What is the best way to root cuttings from tropical hibiscus? Marg

Hardwood cuttings blue hibiscus. Old fish take with a pony pack. Peat and perlite as rooting soil. Cuttings dipped in rooting hormone. I hear honey works too. 24 hours light and mist daily. After day one let a little air flow. Used perlite at the bottom to hold moisture and Incase roots blow out bottom of pony pack. I should wrap this in foil. Make sure temp does not go above 70 to hold off mold. I should trim off more leaves. Ricardo B.
