Rhodie cuttings/rooting system

happyseed(7)April 4, 2008

Hi, I have a couple of different native rhoddies to western north carolina. I have been told you can layer them but can you take a LARGE limb and manage to get it to root. I know I should start small but I like "instant" size. Any info will be appreciated. Sonja (happyseed)

What they are probably refering to is layering a large branch in the soil. You may end up with a larger plant, but the time involved to get a large enough root system would be a question in my mind....probably much longer.
