growing green onions

I have grown green onions from seed and it takes forever. I thought I would buy some at the store and see what would happen if I stuck them in the ground. Guess what. In two days they started to grow roots. The onions cost 69 cents for a bunch of about 8. I can have the greens from them indefinitely after about three weeks. Add some black cow compost or whatever you like and they will grow
