Dry roots

pcputAugust 12, 2011

As a newbie here to plumerias I hope someone can help. I had rooted plants shipped in from different sources. One came in with the roots wrapped in gel beads to keep the roots damp and the other came in with nothing on the roots and although they are lots of roots they are dry. Help!!! What do I do with the plants with the dry roots? Do I soak them and for how long before potting them up? Thanks in advance for your help. Peg

Hi Peg!!!!

I would definately moisten the roots Asap and if you are going to pot up tomorrow. then i would wrap them in damp paper towels or spag, moss to keep them moist.
You can even mist them every so often.

Get them into the new mix and pot up as soon as you can then give them a good drink with some superthrive and B-1

That should help them..

So what kind did you get? That link that you sent to me for the cutting from Mimi didnt work..ill email you later..

LOL...

Let the fun begin!!

Take care...

Thanks Laura, I've soaked them about 2 hrs so guess I'll get them potted. They are 3 variegated grafted plants. Decided to spend my Christmas money ahead of time since I can't get them at that time of year. That was the best excuse I could come up with. :) Peg
