Can they grow here?

Can plumeria be grown in Central Tucson? I suspect a minimum temperature of above freezing. Would like to grow them, but want to plant stuff that grows in the ground and not pots. Do some species of plumeria tolerate the colder temps than others?

At one time there were a bunch planted in Tempe. Remember seeing them all blooming when went to visit my cousin there.
