Gerbera daisy basal cutting?

tropicsnutJuly 20, 2009

Can anyone tell me how basal cutting is done? I only have one pot of the flower right now and would like to grow more. If you can show me some pictures of where exactly to cut that would be awesome!

Your question caused me to be curious myself, since I haven't ever done propagation using basil cuttings. Found an interesting web site with a video showing how to do basal cuttings. Looks simple enough, which usually means trouble for me :~).

A link to the site follows.

Thank you for the link. The problem is from what i see the gerberas are made only of leaves. I dont know where is the stem and where to cut. I've tried cutting some leaves at the twiggy brownish part and dipping in hormone but i don't know if they've rooted. Some have dried while others seem unchanged.
