Anyone have any GOOD experiences with a large company for flowers and perennial shrubs...have used gurneys, but i need more please ty ty, Chris
Please give website
I've come to the conclusion that I generally do best buying from specialty nurseries - daylilies from daylily specialists, iris from iris specialists, etc. They may seem to cost more, but you get better plants. As far as Gurneys and the like are concerned "you get what you pay for." Two overpriced companies that I cannot recommend are Wayside and White Flower Farm.
That said, I think Bluestone and Klehm's Song Sparrow do a pretty good job. Bluestone is cheaper and has a wider selection; they also send smaller plants. Klehm's is a little more of a specialty place; great for clematis and peonies, but they do have a lot of other perennials. They are more expensive, but you get big plants.
gdionelli, thanks for the info.. i will post after i receive my order. Chris
I've bought a variety from them over the years and have not been displeased. If I had a problem they replaced the plant without a hassle. They are definetly small plants but the prices are very good. I lived in the mtns and it was hard to get shipped to easily within a decent time frame on any plant, UPS and a mail problem not the companies, they didn't like delivering to me.
