Lake Valley Seeds - Boulder Colorado

I purchased this companies seed off the rack at a local store. They have a very nice selection and the prices are quite reasonable but if you are looking for named plant seed this isn't the best company to buy from. I purchased what was only labled Salvia Violet Blue - Perennial. The picture on the seed packet was very deceiving. It showed huge blossoms the size of the Salvia guaranitcas but the actual flower was quite small. When I contacted the company to get the botanical name of the seed all they could tell me was that it might be a superba but they really didn't know and that it was perennial. They were wrong on both counts. It turned out to be a S. farinacea and should be grown as an annual beyond zone 8. Like I said they have a nice selection and the prices are fine but they are not knowledgable with regards to what they sell.
