Laurel- How can I propagate-set out a Laurel

goateeAugust 24, 2007

Hello fellow "green fingers".

I am Bulgarian and live in England. Here for a first time I saw this amazing plant- Cherry Laurel (Prunus laurocerasus Rotundifolia)

I want to take it to my dad's garden back in Bulgaria and use it as a evergreen hedge.

The question:

Can I propagate-set out a Laurel by cutting branches in the late autumn from a plant and keep them in water until they grow roots or dig them in moist soft compost and wait them to root.

If that is possible I consider it as the easiest/cheapest way of transporting it to Bulgaria (as a bunch of branches).

Thank you in advance.

Hope to hear from you soon
