Mister using a pump

kylewOctober 1, 2009

I am trying to design a mist propagation bed using a timer turning on/off a pump bringing water from a container (rather than most systems with a timer turning a valve on/off from live water).

It will be a small system- I only need 2-4 mist heads. Most heads I have seen operate at approx 25 psi. The pipe length from pump to mist heads would not be any longer than 10 feet. The elevation change would be less than 4 feet.

Can anyone help me figure out what kind of pump and size pipe I would need to work this?

I don't have an answer for you, but I like your idea. My well water is bad and I can't use mister nozzles as they plug up very fast. With your system I could import enough good water to feed misters. Let us know how well it works. Al
