Red Flowering Currant (Ribes sanguineum)
I just received several hardwood cuttings of red flowering currant from a Wahsington state gardener that I want to successfully root. I immediately dampened them and put them in Rootone and then stuck them in the ground. I am in western NY state. Our temps are still in the mid 50's at least for this week. Will they root outside here or should I dig them up and put the cuttings in potting soil in a container and keep the container inside for the winter? I really want to succeed with this shrub as I haven't been able to find any locally.
