What's going on here?

Has anyone ever seen this before (on any plant)? I've got three Ghost pods that look like they have "arms" growing off the side of them. Some kind of deformity? On two seperate plants, too. Thought it was funky enough to share. Any thoughts?

I've never seen it before. That's pretty wild.

This one looks like it started, then changed its mind.

Improper pollination has always been my guess. It happens. I've never seen it quite like yours, but have often seen the "mutated twin."

Nothing to worry about. Though, when ripening, one part usually lags behind.

Looks pretty cool! You could enter those in the group Facebook's Gnarliest Pod Competition 2014 :-)

Perhaps an unstable strain.
