can I take a cutting now from a redwood dogwood and if so then should I place in root tone ,set it in water to root or what. Do it now or wait till Spring
I've rooted them in water. I had a few willows in there too just to help the situation. Spring cuttings would be the best to root, in my judgment.
hardwood cuttings are easy too. When you notice the new buds begin to swell in early spring/late winter, cut a few branches and pot them in a shady area. Keep them watered, uncovered, and let they stay in the pots until fall. Those that root will leaf out and grow. I did lots of these this past spring. Redtwig dogwood, not the red flowering tree.
