What should I do??

I don't even know where to begin. We bought a house a year ago, admittedly, neglected the gardens. I am now on the path to digging out all of the gardens and ridding them of invasive vines and trees(Chinese tallow, anyone??). I've been battling what I thought was a vine that is cracking the driveway, is so deep I am finding it impossible to dig out, etc. Now, however, I am thinking it is the weeping willow tree we have in front of our house. We are planning on cutting it down, but from what I understand, the previous owner poured concrete underneath it to "prevent" it from spreading. So, my question is: Do we kill the willow then fill the concrete area with dirt, or do we have to hire someone to come in and remove the concrete? The roots of the willow are coming up through the ground and they look suspiciously like some roots growing about 40 feet away.

I am so lost in all of this.

Hi there,
What a nightmare!
You might try posting this question over on the Trees forum. There have been numerous discussions about the best way to kill a tree, but the concrete question has me stumped. I have buried concrete septic tank covers, but they are small enought so that I have not had to pull them out.
Good luck.

Thanks, Renee! I missed the tree forum somehow.
