Jared, Go to the Master Gardener class as there is so much information available. I coordinated Master Gardener classes for 10 years. Each set of classes should be tailored for the area that you live in. We were able to use a lot of different instructors so there was variety and a wealth of information. It opens the door to a lot of learning. I used to tell my students that they wouldn't know it all when they finished the course but they would have a lot of resources and places to look for answers. We would usually get at least one per class that thought they knew it all and they are the ones who give Master Gardeners a bad name. In every class some would be better on vegetables others on pruning or perenials or maybe roses. I excelled in weeds and insects! Of course that came from years of experience. Master Gardeners are sponsored by the land grant university of the state and are in all states and some other countries. They are usually sponsored by the local county Extension office.
