tepin question

matt_in_vaAugust 19, 2014

I planted a tepin for the first time this year. I have hundreds of tiny peppers, some of which have been on the plant for at least a month. Some are blackish, others just dropped their blossoms in the past week. I guess I thought since these peppers are so small, they'd ripen faster. Now I'm starting to wonder if they're all going to ripen at once. What's the deal with these guys? My reaper has produced fully ripe fruit already.

Are any soft or wrinkled, as in past ripe?

(I've never grown tepin.)

They'll turn eventually. The green ones are good too. You'll usually get a bumper first crop, then it'll produce until frost.

Dennis, no, nothing past ripe that I see.

Tom, yeah, I have been nibbling at the green ones a bit. :)
