Had my first "real" pepper harvest last night. A boat load of 7 Pot red and a handful of Bhut.
Sorry for the awful cellphone pic, I was in a hurry.
ottawapepper (Bill) sent me some 7 Pot Douglah seeds that sprouted quite nicely back in January. I had a major catastrophe in May and lost nearly all my plants, including the two Douglahs.
I decided to give a shot at starting fresh, so in mid-May I planted a lone Douglah seed.
This pepper (3.5 months later) is the result.
Bill, those are some awesome seeds!
LOL - Apparently you are allowed one picture per thread, not one per message...
Oh well, I'd rather show off the miracle pepper - you guys have all seen Bhuts and 7 Pots before. :)
To work around posting after you posted is put in the subject line another character like a ! or a . or ..... Then you can post the pcs back to back
Nice looking pepper, how the flavor? I may want to add to my 2014 season since 2013 is limited.
Haven't picked the Douglah yet, giving it another day or two on the plant (it's still slightly green at the tip).
Still amazed I have a ripe pod less than 120 days from when I sowed the seed.
Here is the pic from the OP...
LOL - This is just too complicated.
Nice harvest and a beautiful looking Douglah.
Given my screw up with the Jonah seed, I'm glad the Douglah is growing true and you're happy with the seed.
Thanks for the update,
ps. A word of warning... the Douglah falls into Edymnion's description of some peppers: "Some of these peppers are like Playdough. Fun to play with, not to eat!"
"Some of these peppers are like Playdough. Fun to play with, not to eat!"
Haven't met one yet. :)
The 7 Pot reds are quite good, the Bhuts are old news (but also good).
I'm looking forward to trying the Douglah.
No video though. :P
