Question about winterizing my Plumeria

fancyorchid(9a S.F. Bay Area)December 7, 2009

My Plumies still have a lot of leaves and one has unopened blooms, we still get sunny days in the 50s and sometimes 60s, should I remove all the leaves to encourage dormancy? Mine are in pots and different sizes. I don't have any room in the garage, but I have a covered patio...soooo I'll probably keep them there, covered with some old sheets.

Mike or Bill, does this sound like a good plan?

Thank you for any suggestions,

As long as you do not get several hours of freezing temps. this will work. Because you are surrounded by water it should keep the temperatures above freezing but keep an eye on the frost warnings. If predicted, put a few lights under the sheets to generate warmth. white xmas lights work fine.
