ID Pink Climbing Rose

dream_in_flowers(8)January 19, 2011

In search of a pink climbing rose to plant this spring I ran accross these photos on someones garden blog and fell in love. The rose was there when they moved in so no info was given. Emailed images to David Austin in Texas they said it was Gertrude Jekyl, I'm not convinced. Could it be Constance Spry? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

It looks more like Gertrude than Constance ever did in my garden. Constance does not repeat, while Gertrude can, depending upon a variety of factors. Some repeat splendidly, others don't. If those are the two choices, it's Gertrude.

To my eye, the foliage and blooms don't resemble Gertrude Jekyll. It might not be an Austin rose.
