Red Veined Romantica?

boballi(8 Central Valley CA)February 22, 2007

I purchased a 30 year old house last year. It has a mature rose bush that I would love to identify. (I know that a picture would help, but won't have any until it blooms again this year.)

The petals are red with deeper red veining. The form is very similar to my Romantica 'Bolero'. (If I remember correctly, it was about 4 feet tall, and I think it might have had a traditional rose fragrance.)

Any ideas what it could be?

Thanks for any input!

Rouge Royale is a red Romantica. But I don't know if it has the red veining that you're looking for...

Traviata is another red Romantica.

Here is a link that might be useful: Rouge Royale

The veining makes me think of the 'hand-painted' roses. Once you can post a picture, we'll have a better idea. Do you know if it has more than one bloom cycle? ANd about how many petals?
