Pink Rose with lots of blooms

pat_z6a(6a)April 4, 2008

I found this rose five years ago at my local state park. It is not a "wild" rose, so it must have been planted there years ago when there were old farmsteads on the land.

The flowers are pink and plentiful. The stems have winged-like stipules that are very hairy or jagged looking in appearance.

The thorns curve upwards a little and are red with green tips.

Any idea?

If this is a sprawly climber with long, thin canes about pencil thick, and the blooms are not much more than an inch across, then I believe you have 'Dorothy Perkins' the Rambler.
