Mystery Austin (I think)

nwroseladyJune 4, 2006

I have a giant rose bush I've always thought was an Austin, but I have long-since lost the name tag. The bush is about 6' tall and spreading. Small semi-double pink roses that open flat are streaked with white, show a boss of yellow stamens. Very fragrant. The reverse is silvery pink. It looks like a Regensberg on steroids. I'd sure appreciate some input.

At first glance I immediately thought of Carefree Wonder (not Austin). My sister has two with blooms like that and and hers are about 6' tall and very wide (z 5). However, the Austin website has a nice search feature (far upper left on the page), you put in the category, color, bloom type and get matches. Maybe you'll see it there?

Here is a link that might be useful: Rosa 'Meipitac' CAREFREE WONDER

Moonshadow, I think you're right. As soon as I saw the name a dim memory stirred of having bought this rose at some time in the past, so this seems right. Thank you.
