Unidentified Rose Bush

jodiemarieJune 1, 2005

The bush itself is very large: 9 feet by 6 feet. The tall stems are extremely thorny from the ground to the tip. The bush flowers from late spring through the fall. The pink blooms are small (about quarter sized) and have no scent. The bush is usually so full of blooms that it appears to be in danger of uprooting.

Compare your rose with photos of Pink Grootendorst or F.J. Grootendorst at helpmefind.com.

P.S. Roses can definitely grow bigger than their listed size in warmer climates...

It looks like Pink Grootendorst to me. It is definitely a rugosa rose (wrinkled leaves are the give away)and Grootendorst has serrated edges on the petals.
