Please help me ID this rose

Marilyn_MJuly 2, 2014

I rustled this from 456 E. Mcloud Road in Bellingham, Washington after the home was razed and before the lot was bulldozed to be sold as commercial property. I have 4 photos. It looks a lot like 'Gourmet Popcorn' with three exceptions: no fragrance, pink buds and size (length of canes). The flowers are white, the small buds are deep pink, larger buds are pale pink.

Hi Marilyn-

I think you'll have a better chance of getting an ID if you post all 4 photos to the Roses Forum (just post one photo, then add images as replies to the original post). Close-up photos of the leaves, flowers, buds, stems are particularly useful...

Do you have an idea of how old the rose might be? How large the flowers are and how large the plant is/was? Include any clues that might help someone with the ID.

It's a pretty flower- it looks like it ought to have fragrance, doesn't it?

Good luck,

Popcorn and its sport Gourmet Popcorn have miniscule flowers, no more than about 1/2 inch across, the whole plant no more than about 14-16 inches tall, with distinctive round, buttery-yellow buds like unpopped corn, if that helps. Your rose is very pretty, I'm glad you were able to rescue it before it got bulldozed. :-)
