I can't remember!

Is it supposed to bloom? It hasn't bloomed yet this year.

Thank you!

At first glance, I was thinking some type of Dianthus (Sweet William), but the serrated edges on the leaves are throwing me off.

Looks like some sort of Penstemon cultivar - 'Red Rocks' or some such.

Thanks Diane...the shape of the leaves sure looks similar. In fact, I have a Salvia in my front yard. The leaves of the mystery plant, though, are a different texture --- not as soft and fuzzy as the Salvia. Thanks, though!

Thanks, Bonnie!

Thanks, Dan....I looked up Penstemon on google images, and that seems the most likely!

Hi B2,

When I looked at your plant yesterday, I knew what it wasÂbut I couldnÂt think of it! Senior moment!!!

When I just looked at it again, I managed to dredge up out of my memory banks what I was trying to think of! IÂm almost certain itÂs an obedient plant, Physostegia virginiana! If IÂm right, it could have pink or white flowers, and it should be starting to spike to bloom real soon!

Check the picture linked below, and when it blooms youÂll know for sure. If thatÂs not what it is, post another picture when itÂs blooming.

Happy (HOT) summer,
Skybird

Glad I could help, B2! Have you figured out why they're called "obedient" plants?
