How do you winter sow rose seeds?

gr8heather(6b)April 3, 2013

I have tried the fridge/peroxide method twice now, and all I get are moldy seeds. It seems others have winter sowed their seeds. How do you prepare them? Do you get good results?

This was my first year doing it,some where winter sowed and some had to be put in fridge since I missed them and didn't get them out in time.
I didn't do anything special just put them in damp soil in a pot covered in a plastic bag.
