This rose was bought bareroot around 2 months ago. I love the tiny bombs and transformation of all the bright hot colours.
It has just started to open its first flush and I thought I would share. So far around 1.5 feet tall.
Look at that orange!
From the top.
The buds are red, and they turn bright orange from the center as they open.
Spider on the rose.
It's a little beauty, spidy and all. Love oranges. Thanks for sharing.
Bright and cheery!
Kind of an apricot orange, isn't it? At any rate, I like it.
inga007 - Isn't it great? It provides a much needed bright spot on my garden.
seil - Very! It's an extremely good grower to. Very disease resistant. I haven't had to do a thing except water and feed.
First year in the ground, planted it in late March.
dublinbay - Hmm... I don't really get apricot from this rose... those photos were taken with my cell phone... at dusk on a cloudy day.
It's definitely not as in your face orange as say.... gingersnap.
What I like most is the colour changes the bloons go through.
it's nothing super dramatic, but I appreciate it all the same.
The buds are red. and the blooms open scarlet. Quickly opening the middle turns orange. Which eventually takes over the whole flower. After a few days it takes on a bright scarlet tint around the edges of the petals. The orange in the center of the petals gives way to yellow. The whole thing then fades to an orange creamsicle colour with s tinge of pink. The last few days are a very bleached apricot.
Excuse that overly enthusiastic description.
I'll try and get some shots of it in the sun. Maybe some better colour still pull through. Though most of them are past the orange stage

A bud... my phone does not like oranges and reds so excuse the photos.
opening to scarlet.
Orange... This is as orange as it gets.
Scarlet with orange center.
With the yellow center.
This bloom just started the creamsicle phase. I don't have pictures of the last stage yet.
Great color pops! Thanks for posting all the stages. Impressive little rose.
That is a lovely color change!!
